Nose in a book

I'm about to leave for the day, and this cute story was just forwarded to me--

"Last night we were shopping at Costco and watched this little boy, probably 9 or 10, exit the store while reading a Stone Arch Book. From the glance we caught, we think it was a Jake Maddox title. It was so great...nose in the book and glued to the page. He was just following his mom's feet."

I love it! What a great way to end the day.

more soon!

this so reminds me. when i was at ut - university of texas at austin - i finally managed a front page story in the weekly magazine that the DAily Texan puts out. when I was riding home on the shuttle bus, I saw a student get on, sit next to me, flip open the newspaper to my story, start to read.
this one part of me was saying shut up, shut up, just watch.
the reader kept reading, and laughing
in parts, and this other part of me wanted to poke him and say,
so what part did you think was funny?
Surreal moment, but I think it's one of those things that writers everywhere get to go through if they are lucky.
